Cliff was the most genuinely honest person I ever met. A fellow Viet Nam Vet, he could be depended upon for his loyalty and courage. Thanks for your friendship. John Michel

I met Cliff Bell while I was a student at LaSalle College, he was attending a LaSalle event with a friend. While it was clear to me that he was not what one would consider a "cool" guy, what I learned over the coming years knowing him was that he had rare quantities of decency, loyalty, honesty and was perhaps the most forthright human beings anyone could ever be acqainted with. I was in the Air Force in VietNam a couple of years after Cliff was in the Army there and I would rather have him next to me in a war zone than any of the so called "cool" guys I knew back in High School.

Cliff Bell was solid, loyal and always true to himself. Never a false note or any of the usual colorations of pretense, even in the pretentious late '60s. He instinctively resisted the temptation to put on masques and take poses so it was always clear that you were engaged with authenticity. Such a refreshing intermission from those so busy being cool that they never emerged to reveal their self. Whenever I was tired of the oh so hip clowns I would call Cliff and find planet earth again, a place that made sense and wasn't caked with make-up. He went to Viet Nam a year before I was assigned there. And he was a good son to Mary and Clifford St. Good man Clifford, thanks for being a friend John H. Michel           Jenkintown PA
